Nature-based tourism for regional development

This project focuses on the commercial aspects of outdoor recreation. The purpose of this project is to assess the role of nature-based tourism and Ecotourism as a tool for building sustainable rural communities. The researchers will identify factors that contribute to creating job opportunities and positive processes; both essential contributors to sustainable development.

The project will;

  • analyse the national economic effects of tourism development
  • study how tourism entrepreneurs and other players can contribute to an improved management of protected rural areas.
