Outdoor recreation and nature conservation

The project will generate knowledge about the interaction between outdoor recreation and the protection of nature. One topic is how outdoor recreation can bring understanding for nature and insight into nature conservation.

The researchers will;

  • identify possibilities and constraints affecting the combination of outdoor recreation and nature conservation in protected areas
  • study how the outdoor experiences influence people´s perception of nature and vice versa
  • study how the ´nature´ schools and ´Naturum´ function and produce suggestions how to develop these further
  • study how children make use of the urban proximate green areas
