ISSRM conferences in Malaysia and Madison, Wisconsin


The 17th International Symposium on Society and Resource Management (ISSRM) will be hosting two symposia in 2011. The Malaysian symposium länk till annan webbplats will be hosted by Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) 13th — 17th June 2011, in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.The United States symposium länk till annan webbplats will be hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Madison June 4-8, 2011, in Madison, Wisconsin. ISSRM is the official meeting of the International Association for Society and Natural Resources, IASNRlänk till annan webbplats, öppnas i nytt fönster, and is the largest international meeting of social scientists who focus on environmental and natural resources issues.

Outdoor Recreation Research 2011


The research program Outdoor Recreation in Change is organizing this annual conference with recreation in the outdoors in focus, a forum for dialogue about current research on outdoor recreation and nature tourism. The conference Outdoor Research 2011 is a creative meeting place for current national research on Swedish outdoor recreation and nature tourism. The conference will this year be held at the Umeå Community Hall, November 9-10 2011.  The conference is aimed at academics and practitioners interested in research and development in these areas, and will serve as an inspiring venue for new knowledge and exchange of experiences.

MMV 2012


The 6th International Conference on Monitoring and Management of Visitors in Recreational and Protected Areas, Stockholm, Sweden, August 21-24, 2012.

The MMV conference provides a forum for presentations and other exchanges of ideas and experiences related to the monitoring and management of visitors in recreation and protected areas. The emphasis is on policies, problems, practices and innovative solutions, and will therefore be of equal relevance to managers and researchers.The conference welcomes researchers, public sector and industry managers, consultants, planners and members of NGO´s dealing with visitor management in recreational and protected areas.

The first MMV conference was held in Vienna, Austria, in 2002, the second in Rovaniemi, Finland, in 2004, the third in Rapperswil, Switzerland, in 2006, the fourth in Montecatini Terme, Italy, in 2008 and the fifth MMV conference was in Wageningen in the Netherlands in 2010. The sixth MMV conference will be in Stockholm Sweden in the beautiful surroundings of the Stockholm archipelago.
